Air Force Research Laboratory Selected CIS Mobile to Develop a Secure Mobility Platform
Ashburn, VA – July 13, 2020 – CIS Mobile, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CIS Secure and a leader in mobile platform security, has been selected by the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop a secure mobility platform for the United States Air Force.
The Air Force Research Laboratory, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, has a mission to lead the discovery, development, and integration of warfighting technologies to our air, space, and cyberspace forces. Their contributions span more than 80 years of research endeavors for the Air Force and Department of Defense.
“We are pleased that the Air Force Research Laboratory has chosen CIS Mobile to develop innovative enhanced mobile security platform capabilities,” said CIS Mobile President Bill Anderson. “Our altOS platform is designed specifically to address the needs of governments for a flexible, secure, and cost effective smartphone platform. We look forward to engaging in this project to develop cutting edge mission critical capabilities that will dramatically increase the availability, security, and usability of mobile devices for the U.S. government.”
CIS Mobile’s altOS solution is a re-engineered version of the modern Android OS that provides a wide range of functionality from creation and management of multiple independent secure containers to geo-fencing controls that restrict wireless, camera and microphone use in sensitive facilities. The altOS platform closes the security gap for mission-critical government users with a complete Android platform that the government agency controls. The CIS Mobile project with AFRL will enhance security, portability, compactness, and reliability at an HWAC Layer in the altOS platform.
