CIS Mobile Reflects on 2020 and Looks Ahead to 2021

Ashburn, VA – January 22, 2021. CIS Mobile, an Acorn Growth Company and mobile security leader, highlights the accomplishments of 2020 and announces the direction for 2021. Although 2020 challenged us to adapt and change how we live and work, it reminded us to be inspired by innovation even through the most trying times.

First and foremost is our gratitude for our employees, customers, partners, and colleagues’ efforts. Our business community rallied to the changing times, and together we navigated an unprecedented journey with their support and commitment.

CIS Secure, the parent company to CIS Mobile, acquired the altOS mobile security technology platform, patents, and intellectual property in 2019 and built an exceptional security solution. With a business model dedicated to government needs, we saw an opportunity to be a trusted partner to government customers in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

In early 2020, we began to establish deployments with U.S. government agencies with key intelligence and military customers. Notably, Air Force Research Laboratories (AFRL) awarded CIS Mobile the contract to add additional capabilities to the altOS platform to benefit the Department of Defense mission.  By the end of 2020 we exceeded our goals by closing deals with multiple defense and intelligence customers in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.

By listening to our customers’ needs, we identified a unique and robust requirement from government users that cannot be solved by conventional mobile solutions. The need to override the built-in data collection capabilities in off-the-shelf smartphones – controlling smartphone tracking of user location, activities, and advertising tracking codes is a critical priority for the customers we serve.

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed the need for government workers to have a device allowing them to work from home or in a traditional office. We heard these requirements and responded with new system management capabilities, additional security, convenience, and privacy features to make the work/remote experience better for everyone. We will continue to update the altOS platform to keep pace with the latest innovations and security features in Android.

Driven by the latest innovation of Android and the releases of versions Android 10 and 11, we continue to update and incorporate new security features on the altOS platform. The altOS platform is now shipping on the latest Google Pixel 4a and Sonim’s rugged XP8 phone.

As we look ahead to 2021, we are excited about CIS Mobile’s future. Our customers indicate their plans to scale-up increasing deployments across accounts. We anticipate our engagements progressing rapidly from pilots to group-level deployments. The next quarter’s product roadmap includes releasing new devices with 5G and the latest version, 11, of the Android operating system. We have multiple patents issued and pending in the U.S. and other countries, and anticipate developing new inventions with our partners and customers in the coming year.

Welcome, 2021!
